An Insult to God (Ep. 47)

Dr. Rita Nakashima Brock was the first Asian American woman to earn a doctorate in theology. As Liz notes in this episode, she is one of the godmothers of the Progressive Asian American Christian movement. In this wide ranging interview, Dr. Brock discusses why the traditional view of substitutionary atonement is an insult to God, how the view actually emerged during the first Crusade in the year 1098, and how progressive Christians can find hope especially in the time of Easter. Thank you for listening!
