Inspired by Romans 13: 11-14

Reflection

What does it mean to be a world that drifts in-between slumber and awake-ness?

To seek out the lost and broken things around us, to mourn the here-and-now

And still hold that seemingly fragile “not yet” in one hand, as we look towards the hope-filled dawn of the promised return of Christ?

What does it mean for heaven to come down on earth? When they collide? Do you hear it, do you feel it, that painful pull of occupying a liminal space that is never wholly one or the other, but a strangely beautiful both/and?

Can you see the ways in which we are still fast asleep, down in our deep burrows and not yet stirring? What might that look like, in your life, in your community, in our world?

Do you see the ways in which we are waking, where we see that the day is near and we have rubbed away the hardened sleep from our eyes? What might that look like, in your life, in your community, in our world?
